Why didn't they use the built in microphone for the singing? It looked like you just needed to touch the correct row?
I can't believe what they did to the singing. EA... this is a phone, which means it had a mic. WTH?
ya! this is lame. they should take a lesson from "i am t-pain" which shows that pitch tracking is possible on the phone.

You'd have to be fairly close to them for more than a brief encounter and the radiation dissipates after awhile. Not only that, they'd have to get fairly large doses in the first place to emit much radiation.
I think the real concern would be not so much the animals themselves. For an animal to represent a real exposure risk, it would probably have to be so "hot" that it would not live very long at all, nor would anything that were to eat it. It is about the contaminated material they might pick up and carry away from Fukushima. Each creature just has to bring us a very small amount, enough of them in concert, over time, could in theory make our cities, or parts of the, uninhabitable. Not sure what we could do to prevent it.

No, I think I was in disbelief when he said dying is for fools... does he really believe he is going to live forever?
At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if he did live forever. He is charlie sheen.
(Now in reality. I'd be surprised if he was alive a year from now.)

Thoughts?
I totally support this.
People seem to have forgotten the meaning of "intellectual property".
Computers have made thievery too easy.
So easy that some people no longer recognize it as thievery.

I use Due and Todo.
Due's great for repeating tasks and reminding me of something I really could easily forget to do were my phone not beeping at me every minute, but it's too simple for projects.
Todo's better for projects, and I like that choosing a due date is easier and faster, and that I can easily modify a few tasks all at the same time rather than one by one (like say postponing a few tasks till later).
Most importantly both back up online, so were I to lose my iPhone or do a complete factory restore (I've had to do that twice when my iPhone back up had saved the bug that crashed my iPhone in the first place), I can easily restore all my reminders and tasks.

Is there a way to leave the Contacts alone on the phone?
I just got the phone , sync'd it and everything else.
On windows address book, there's no phone numbers.
I went on the phone to "Contacts" and edited everything the way I want it.
Is there a way to make it so next time I sync the phone, the contacts on it stay as they are? I don't want it to sync from the windows address book again Cause I'll probably lose everything I just edited.

It'll work but file transfers will be very, very slow.
We are talking about a file server on a local network. It's only data transfer bottleneck would be the ethernet connection. The iBooks stock HD could easily keep up with gigabit ethernet.
Don't understand what your "very very slow" statement is based on.

My 4th gen ipod nano was stolen from my honda in January... as well as the motor and tranny... etc. But what was I to do???? Buy the new 6th gen, no, might as well get a touch! Lucky for me Apple had just posted 16GB 5th gen nano refurbs up... $149+tax, a bit steep in my opinion for a model introduced september but WELL worth it in my opinion! Love the click wheel, it is seriously GENIUS! Whoever invented it needs an engineering award! :)

$50 !! Are they crazy. There's no way I'm going to pay $50 for this apps. And the people that pay $50 for it are probably .................... just curious. :D
update: I change my mind. I could see how this apps would benefit me. with this apps, I don't have to be on the computer all the time. just open this app and its like a tutor. I hope it can help me with Calculus 4 and Statistic. and I hope they meant $4.99 instead of $49.99
It must have been a typo, right Wolfram?
Oh, if it could also help with coding and english grammar, that would really convince me that it is worth $50.
update II: now I understand why it's $50.

Hey guys, so i've noticed that other computer forums have kind of a marketplace area of their forums. I thought this would be pretty cool if there was one on Macrumors, but I looked around and couldn't find one (if there is one I apologize for making this thread) so I thought i'd suggest it.
Also I wasn't sure exactly where to post this thread so if a mod feels like there is a better place for this posting you're welcome to move it there.
Thanks.

I've been searching without any luck, and I feel like an even bigger n00b for asking this...
but I saw a thread SOMEWHERE in this forum with a website specifically for and all about switching. I haven't received my mac yet, but I wanted to get the ball rolling. i remember the link saying it had all the places to look in my peecee for the important info to burn CD's for transfer.
greatly appreciated.

You can restore your iTunes Library file from just before the deletion, via Time Machine. You'll have to do this while iTunes is NOT running, though. By default, the file is here: /Users/username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library
Thanks for the reply, but as i stated, my last TM backup was from a month ago. Are you suggesting that there would be a more recent copy anyway?

Great post & well done.
It's great to see one so young (going by your profile), so passionate about such old equipment. :)
As an old fart who remembers doing component level repair on those Power/Sweep boards, floppy drives and motherboards when the exchange price of a Power/Sweep was AU$450.00, it makes me appreciate somebody taking the time to go this far.
At least when I'm gone there will be those who care enough to keep these curios going. :D
I work as an Apple Tech these days (training complete, pending certification). My co-workers in the service department are all technicians of the mid to late 80's, having worked on these Compact systems when they were brand new. However I don't think they appreciated it as much. Something tells me they were never expecting or hoping to see one of these again. Oh well.
There's just one thing that bugs me about this machine, and that's the fact that the Analog Board has 2 lifted traces, mainly caused by the aging of the board and the harsh weather conditions it was subjected to. They lifted with almost no effort during the capacitor replacement. I've since secured and epoxied them down, but i'll always know that at least one part of the machine had to be patched up. I briefly considered starting over with the Mac Plus analog board but I threw that idea out the window once I saw that the condition of it was significantly worse than the 512's.
I had hoped to build another system like this, perhaps with a 128k as the platform, armed with the knowledge of the first build on what to do (and more importantly what not to do). At this stage I have yet to find a machine that fits the bill as the dead ones are usually already dumped and the working ones are fetching decent amounts with no sign of the prices falling as of yet.

How is this possible? The Wii's OS doesn't support DVD playback, and you can't control things such as Anamorphic Widescreen...
