That's for the advice! I may try Crucial or OWC which looks like they guarantee Apple compatibility. I guess the Corsair's should work fine in a standard laptop.
I'de call Corsair first and see what they think. Perhaps it is bad RAM and they will replace it. If you decide to get OWC or Crucial and are not in a hurry, wait a little while and monitor the price as they go on sale. You can get some memory, like G Skill, for around $60, which most members here seem to love.

The standard resolution for DVD is 720 x 576 pixels, so 800x600 should do the trick.
For myself, when I doubt the quality of a movie or whatever I want to play on a TV/DVD set, I burn the files on a DVD-RW first. In most cases the quality is better on TV than it seems on my computerscreen. Sure the fact my monitor has higher resolution than my TV and the distance from what you watch your TV (lots more than from where you look at my monitor) will play a role.
Good luck

I mainly want more ports on the ACDs so that I can hook up my apple t.v. and watch HD movies on it. I can't believe apple didn't offer HD movie rentals for computers.

As far as the guarantees go, this is what I see at negrielectronics.com (http://negrielectronics.com/apple-iphone-unlocking-service-permanent-solution.html) right now:
Your iPhone is now unlocked permanently!
Unlocked. Permanent. 100% Guaranteed or your money back*.
Your order may require verification. Please look for an email from us to further verify your order. This is a high fraud item and we take every precaution and approach fraud very seriously.
*(If the unlock is not successful, please email us a video link showing your IMEI and the unlock being unsuccessful).
**To deter possible fraud, we also reserve the right to remotely lock your device by IMEI
That's awfully tempting...they accept major CCs. You could always dispute the charge...
This is what is scary about this new unlocking avenue. Obviously someone has access to Apple's DB and from this statement, it seems like the access they have allows the to lock it. This means they could lock anyone's iPhone at anytime, even factory unlocked units. Even the carriers do not have this level of access. I was told by the Rogers unlocking team, that they could unlock but could not relock any phones...only Apple had that access. These unlockers have greater access to the Apple systems than the carriers do (already obvious, since they can unlock multiple carriers and the carriers can only unlock their own).

NetBeans is pretty good, but is a bit of bloat. It will show warnings and errors in your files while editing them just like when programming Java. Personally though I just use a text editor (BBEdit), then as mentioned browser tools like Firebug can be great for debugging things.

The pixel sleeve completely covers the air. It's not to tight but a good fit. I would recommend. The lining is really soft micro fibre kind of thing. It also has no zip so no chance of scratching the mba!

That sucks. Mick Karn was amazing. He also played on a Gary Numan record as well. I believe it was Dance. Also with Peter Murphy in Dali's Car.

Not really...because earlier in the month I posted a similar thread....stating that it would be cool if we had an iPod with bluetooth built in for wireless head sets and remote.....so the whole point of this thread is that the tecnology to make this happend is coming :D :p

A genuine wow moment today. I was working on some small, everyday little project with a client for whom my every action on the machine was a minor miracle. Watching her react reminded me how genuinely cool the beast in front of me really is. Sure, primarily it's a tool that allows me to do my job, but there's passion and attention to perfection in there that seems worth pausing to appreciate.
So, WOW dual 2.5. And thanks for kickin butt for me.

I have a 2006 mini I use as an HTPC, the fan is louder than I'd like it to be but it's running at a normal RPM so there's not much I can do about it. My sister has a 2010 mini and I noticed it's much quieter than mine, nearly silent. So I was wondering if anyone knows if the fan model used in the 2010 would work in a 2006?

I was at work, and someone said that the news was reporting that a plane had hit one of the Towers. We all thought maybe a small plane had lost control or something. A little bit later, someone said the other tower got hit. Then we knew. We had a small set playing ABC, with at least 50 people hunched around it at all times throughout the day. I saw the first tower fall live. After the Pentagon was hit, and there were reports of a 4th plane still in the air, quite a few were freaking out, as we are located between PA. and DC.
I had to stay at work. Got home around 6.00p and stayed horrifically glued to the boob tube all night long.
Blue, I was looking at the clock and thinking of starting a thread just like this one. Glad I checked new posts first.

Why European mobile service is better.
Almost everyone gets free incoming minutes.
Yeah, and you also let the person calling you pay a tarriff up to four times the rate of a fixed line call. Calling a mobile number can cost five times as much as making an international call 20.000 kilometres away. Ever wonder why Europeans don't use their mobiles to make voice calls? :)

Pretty quick response to fixing the issue with 4th gen iPod Touches. Was getting really annoying. :)
I agree, I just bought the iPod Touch last month, I thought it was the hardware. Glad to know it wasn't.

The type of sound files I'm trying to download are wavs. Or they play as Quick Time movies. They are basically sound bites from movies and TV shows. At work (system 9) we use these as substitute alert sounds and press them to sound instantly when they fit into the conversation (uh... yeah...I know).
I'm just trying to understand why I can't do the instant-click thing in OS X.

I appreciate arn's hard work, and think standard-compliance is great news.
I have to admit, though, that in terms of look-and-feel, I prefered the old design, due to its less-is-more approach and clean, minimalist design. Like others have stated, I, too, feel the new design is too dense and information-laden. I would prefer it if the new left column weren't there, for a cleaner, less cluttered look.
I also don't care too much about the dark brown color (this was there before, I know) and think grey might fit nicer with the blue hues on the site, but that's a personal preference.
I also don't see why the new tabs have to be pseudo 3-d. Sure, Apple is using their trademark aqua look for tabs on their website, but aside from them, many are going back from the 90s 3-d look to cleaner, contemporary 2-d, such as in the iPod campaign (I also don't get too excited about the tan tab color, but again, that's just me).
I hope I'm not sounding too negative here, as I overall very much appreciate the re-design efforts and important changes and think on balance it's a great job.

well i can think of one thing to do but its pretty improvised... set the home button to "take screenshot" and use a tweak to take out the flash. too bad there isn't a "do nothing" option for the home button as that would make it much easier...
Imo, you should get your home button fixed.

So I have now upgraded the Mac Pro with 2x X5690 and they work great. Only thing concerning me is the temperature for processor A is like 6 degrees higher when idle (B 28, A 33) and up to 12 degrees celcius higher when stress testing in Prime95 in OSX. Using iStat, it unfortunately shows only the average temp for all cores on any one CPU and not temp for each core. Is these anything available for OSX that will show all core temps?
I doubt it's a case of heatsink having poor contact with CPU due to thermal grease having gaps etc. Because the temperatures are still in the norm, it's just that CPU B is really cool. After about 15 min in Prime95 it sort of averages 63 for CPU B and 72 for CPU A and these 1366 chips can safely do 78/80 as far as I recall.
Not worth remounting you reckon ? I applied even amounts of MX-4 to both chips and covered their surface entirely.
What are the temps under stress testing?
A couple of things to note:
