I hope the oil companies make huge profits too. Without them, I wouldn't have gas to drive to work. So what if gas is $5 a gallon, they work hard to get that oil out of the ground. Same for my electric company. They provide me with some high tech electricity to power my Apple products. And the supermarkets, for selling me food so I can survive. They truly deserve to make billions. Same for the health insurance companies. I'd like to see BCBS make at least 5 billion a quarter for providing my health care.

OBLIVION= first choice. That's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_overview.htm) to be exact. Open world RPG, the first solo RPG that was worthy of exploring just for the fun of it. See that mountain way over there? Walk to it and climb. :)

Hrmpf reports (http://hrmpf.com/wordpress/90/apple-describes-new-interface-for-ipod) on a particularly revealing patent application from Apple that was published on October 26, 2006.
The name of the patent application is "Electronic Device Having Display and Surrounding Touch Sensitive Bezel for User Interface and Control". The patent describes and depicts a full-screen touch sensitive iPod very similar to the various Video iPod Mockups (http://guides.macrumors.com/Gallery_of_Video_iPod_Mockups) that have been floating around the web. The application was filed in June of 2006.
The focus of the patent is the incorporation of a touch-sensitive bezel (edge of screen) that can adapt to the screen contents to provide an input method for the user. Hrmpf suggests that the use of this non-screen area would eliminate many of the "smudge" and "scratch" concerns for a full-screen touch iPod.
The diagrams included clearly depict what appears to be a full-screen Video iPod. The rumors of a full-screen Video iPod have been ongoing for some time, but picked up steam in February 2006 (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/02/20060209095419.shtml) with claims that the full screen Video iPod would arrive in the coming months. Later reports (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/04/20060413131333.shtml) indicated a delay with some recent reports (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/10/20061018143033.shtml) of a late 2006/early 2007 release.
Numerous other patents have described possible touch-interface methods, but this is the first patent application to depict a full-screen iPod so clearly. It also could represent the "None-Touch" iPod interface that was described in July (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/07/20060724212925.shtml).
Update: There seems to be some misinterpretation of the picture. The circles in the bezel do not represent "buttons". The entire bezel would be a smooth surface that would be touch sensitive. A touch-sensitive Bezel iPod would still look like this mockup:
http://guides.macrumors.com/images/thumb/0/04/Ipodvideo.jpg/120px-Ipodvideo.jpg
This patent was purchased from a company in Buffalo, NY
It will be implemented in the new ipods.

If it is a simple GPS device like the Garmin iQue(sp?) it won't do well as most cars these days can get equipped with them at a fair price. The place that this device might do well is Korea, seeing as many of their mp3/video player manufactures have included GPS integrated or as an add on on their player. Like the new Cowon P5, and N2.
Now if it is a gps system in a camera now that would be interesting but kind of pointless? Unless someone can give a reason why it maybe good.
And gps on a phone is nothing new as Nextel and Verizion already have this option. Unless it is google maps for a phone that isn't a pda things may get interesting.

Going from 2mb Ram to 4mb Ram is only $100. VERY much worth it in my opinion. The CPU upgrade is more debatable. And I'd go for 256gb on the SDD (128gb is a bit limited for today's standards if you plan on storing music and video).

So i got this iMac off eBay for just 2.15! It's a tangerine model with a 10 gig HD and 160 mb RAM, running 10.3.9. Actually came with Word for mac installed. Gonna get a usb dongle to get it on the web. My only complaint is that I can't sync my iPhone.
:eek:that's the exact same spec (but i had a 6gig hdd) that my first imac was but i paid 25

I thought "Commander And Chief" was terrible. Geena Davis has to be the worst actress on the face of the earth. The pace of the show was way too slow, the supporting cast was decent (they could have been much better), the story was OK. I thought the only good thing about the show was Donald Sutherland.

The new multi touch gestures are pretty cool. Safari got a lot of really pretty animations to go with the multi-touch gestures... although its more bugged than simply using the backwards and forwards buttons.

Is the file really a jpeg? Is it CMYK or RGB?
Yeah, it looks like the image is CMYK. I don't know if changing it will fix the problem, but it should be RGB either way.

The big google ad is under the main story again.
If you don't like this, use this url

and it will toggle them back to the left-column. It's cookie based and will remember your settings.

Let's say thousands of units and millions of dollars, ok?

That sounds promising.
My plan is to host the files from my Dropbox, giving me a good 2GB of space from the 40MB I think I have now. I'm not sure how bandwidth works with Dropbox since it's not a web host. I assume it will work fine, otherwise I'll just have to cough up some money :(
Are Dropbox items accessible from a browser?

Not sure why this is getting so much buzz again. Real Harmony has been out there for over two years now, and even news of this me-too implementation from Johansen already ran 3 weeks ago (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/10/20061002155354.shtml) on MacRumors. Nothing much at all has changed WRT the iTunes Store's market position.

My 13" CRT can function as a display too. That doesn't mean it's going to give me good picture quality and high resolution. Cheap TV's are cheap for a reason.
HDTVs however, offer great res for a majority of things. I'm using a Samsung one right now while I wait for Apple or Dell to show their '08 hands (hoping for a 2708 or updated ACDs sometime soon) so who knows what point you were trying to make there. Have you even used one??

Just curious why you chose Best Buy over the Apple Store?
I am choosing BB because I have some Reward Zone certificates that I am going to use towards the purchase, plus the RW points will go towards getting another cert to use in the future.
